The Lead Caller
Many of us have received phone calls from marketing departments claiming to represent services on behalf of the government. I received such a call moments ago.
The person calling had an unusual accent and spoke very rapidly. After asking this person for the third time to repeat what was being said, I understood she was trying to reach out to me about some government program. However, I didn't want to spend another second trying to understand what she had to say about the program as she continued to speak rapidly, so I politely ended the call.
Now I am left wondering if this was the one phone call needed to receive the financial help being sought.
